Periodic cleaning of gutters is essential since they tend to clog up easily. You should at least clean the gutters twice a year to make sure that dirt does not get accumulated there. It is for the same reason that you should not plant trees very near to the house. You cannot any easy way for gutter clean-up. As the first step, you have to ascent a ladder with a hose, scoop and bucket for removing the debris lying loose. You should use gloves in order to save your hands from injury. After this, scoop up the sticky dirt from the gutter and keep it in the bucket taken for transporting the dirt downwards. The bucket can be lowered using a rope and after getting it emptied, you can pull it up for filling again. The process is continued till all dirt is removed.

Then comes the use of the water hose. After clearing the garbage, hose down all the remaining waste with a power jet. While cleaning the gutter, make sure to clean the downspouts also. As a result of clogged gutters, these downspouts also may get clogged with dirt. In the downspout is one that goes straight up, cleaning of its interiors can be done very easily with a powerful stream of water directed into it. But in case of angled ones, manual cleaning is needed after removing them.

Professional help is also available for gutter clean-up but if you are comfortable with doing it yourself, you can do it as part of your physical exercise. In order to ensure the long life of your building, you should pay utmost importance in keeping gutters clean and blockage-free.
